Lucky Charms Tablescape

As I'm a wee bit Irish, I'm very excited to be joining in with Cuisine Kathleen's 7th Annual St. Patrick's Day Blog Crawl.

Be sure to pop over and spread some Irish cheer while you visit with all the great guests gathered there.

My tablescape began with this bowl of lucky charms.  Got to love Dollar Store inspiration!

I gathered up a selection of various green dishware.

These were placed on a white plate serving as a charger and a green placemat.

This table is set in preparation for a St. Patrick's Day luncheon for Mr. Delight and I.

I used about six different shades of green to celebrate this special Irish holiday.

The napkins were embellished with faux boxwood and a shamrock.

This Irish cross from HomeSense years ago was made part of the centerpiece.

A pitcher of faux boxwood and a pillar candle complete the table décor.
(yep, that's snow outside the window but it's a lot less than at this time last year!)

Can you see the hidden shamrocks tucked into the boxwood?

A green ribbon and shamrock accent were added to the candleholder.

Below the centerpiece, a couple of white birds join in the fun.

These little guys are pretty special to me as Mr. Delight surprised me with them after one of his work trips out of town.

Since their names are Celtic in origin, I'm also introducing "Owen and Keeran". Those are the Pier 1 names for my new chairs (Owen) and table (Keeran).  (Though it's spelled differently, I even have a cousin with the same name - Kieran.)
We had wanted to replace the big, bulky, burgundy (yes 3 bad B's!) wingbacks we've had here for awhile now.  When I was "gifted" with some funds from my grandma's estate (special thanks to my mom and of course, my late grandma), I decided to spend it on the table & chairs.

We made a lot of trips to Pier 1 to finally decide on these specific chairs (they have so many!) but are very happy with our choice. They work well for dining but are also the right size and style to easily pull into the living room when extra seating is required there.
(Pillow & Throw also from Pier 1 last year - no, this is not a sponsored post - just love their stuff!)

Can't wait for St. Patrick's Day to have our lunch at this table.  Guess I better come up with something other than these bowls of Lucky Charms to eat!

Remember to head on over to Cuisine Kathleen's and check out all the others who are embracing the green!

Thanks for visiting!

  9. Lori, When you said "lucky charms" I was picturing something with little marshmallows and a leprechaun! I think I have a box in my pantry. Yours are much prettier! All the greens really say Ireland to me. And your new table and chairs are wonderful. You can enjoy happy memories of your grandma while you relax! Linda

  10. Elegant and cozy is not easy but you have created a wonderfully elegant yet still cozy tablescape on your beautiful new table. The shades of green are like the Irish countryside. How boring it would be if everything were the same shade of green. Have a wonderful evening..... Candy
